## The subscription pays for features. Volume is bought separately.

This is the one design choice that really matters: raising your capacity must never commit you to a higher monthly tier.

Your plan includes a number of operations a month. Looking at your messages never eats into it: call the API as often as you like, read one message a hundred times, wait thirty seconds for it to arrive, and the counter will not move.

## Packs you buy when you need them

Valid twelve months, they stack, and you never lose one by changing plan. This is what replaces renegotiating a subscription at every spike.

- **Spending cap** : Set a maximum beyond which we stop billing and start refusing messages. Nobody should discover a bill.
- **Two clicks to buy** : A pack is available the moment payment clears. No ticket, no salesperson, no waiting for next month.
- **Automatic top-up** : Optional: buy the same pack again automatically when less than 20 % of credits remain, so a CI run is never interrupted.

## How we build our comparisons

A price comparison nobody can verify is worth nothing. Here are our sources.

- Personal and Core plans: monthly prices read on 2026-08-11 from the public pricing API of mailosaur.com: $25 for 500 emails a day, $63 for 2,500. Their annual formula is cheaper; we compare against monthly billing.
- The 210,000-message point: a renewal amount actually observed on a Core account configured at 7,000 emails per day ($247.38/month).
- SMS module: “from $37.50 per month” on top.
